The Lao Rugby Federation (LRF) is pleased to announce Jack Hughes as the player sponsor of Souphaphone “Maem” Phoudthasen.
Maem is a member of the Vientiane Lions Women's Rugby Club and represented Laos at the Asia Rugby 7s Trophy, leading to a 19-0 victory against Qatar. Maem participated in the 2018 Asia Rugby U18 7s in India as well as the 2019 Kowloon RugbyFest as part of the DAC Lao Nagas, where she and her team earned the title of Cup Runners-Up.
Mr. Hughes’s support comes as part of the LRF’s Player Sponsorship Initiative, which grants businesses and individuals the opportunity to sponsor players and staff as they represent Laos at elite international competitions. Since its inception in 2010, the Player Sponsorship Initiative has made it possible for the Men’s and Women’s Lao National Teams to travel and compete at the international level.
